Zebras Holiday Club

1:1 SUPPORT PLAYWORKERS

Start date: Summer 2024

​

We are looking for suitable applicants to support SEND and children with individual behavioural/emotional needs at our Holiday Club site at Cotham Secondary School.

​

The position involves:

Working at our Holiday Club site at Cotham Secondary School, with designated children aged 4-13yrs.

​

  • Introductory meetings (as agreed) with parents/carers (in person or over the phone) to organise how we can best care for their children and support them to play and interact with others during the school holidays.

  • Completing Play Support Plans with parents/carers.

  • Liasing/communicating with parent's/carer's via Communication Book and feedback at the end of each session.

  • Working days/hours negotiable (to suit both staff and families).

  • A calm, friendly and professional manner essential along with the ability to empathise and 'get to know' each child assigned.

  • Ability to work towards managing a range of behaviours that may arise.

  • Work as part of a team communicating and working together (as needed) to provide effective support and care for the individual child.​

  • Pay rate: £12hr, with hours to suit (negotiable)

  • Previous experience of SEND, working with children an advantage, but willingness to learn taken into account.

  • Must be willing to undertake essential training and regular updates with regards to Safeguarding/Child Protection (and related fields) and other training needs relevant to the role.

AFTERSCHOOL PLAYWORKERS

Start date: September 2024

​

Exciting opportunities have become available for suitable applicants to join our team as Afterschool Playworkers. This role involves working between 2-5 days weekly (please specify how many/which days you are available to work on your job application form), during Bristol School Terms.

Hours 2.45pm-6.30pm.

​

​

We are looking for reliable, punctual and hard-working staff who can commit to at least a year's continuous work during all Bristol School Terms.

Please note: For this role, holidays/time off, must be taken outside of Bristol School Terms (i.e. during school holidays).

  • Pay rate: £11.44hr 21yrs+

     (18-20yrs £9.75hr)

  • Previous experience working with children an advantage, but not necessary. 

  • Must be willing to undertake compulsory training and regular updates with regards to Safeguarding/Child Protection (and related fields) as required.

 

The position involves:

Working at our Elmgrove and/or Cotham sites with children aged 4-6yrs and/or 6-11yrs.

  • Organising play and activities, setting up/packing away the play environment.

  • Preparing & serving snacks,

  • Cleaning and tidying as required,

  • Supervising and interacting with children (inside/outside) and during offsite trips (where applicable).

  • Working as part of a team to collect children from different schools/classrooms and escorting them to Zebras.

  • Reading all essential policies provided and incorporating them into your personal playworker practice.

BREAKFAST CLUB PLAYWORKERS

 

Start date September 2024

Opportunities have become available for suitable applicants to join our team as Breakfast Club Playworkers. This role involves working between 2-5 days weekly (please specify how many/which days you are available to work on your job application form), during Bristol School Terms.

Hours 7.15-9.15am.

We are looking for friendly, reliable and hard-working staff who can commit to at least a year's continuous work during all Bristol School Terms.

  • Working as part of a team to escort the younger aged children to the Elmgrove Annexe for the start of the school day.

  • Reading all essential policies provided and incorporating them into your personal playworker practice.

‘Walking Bus’ staff needed to escort children to Zebras Afterschool Club, from local schools.

 

Would you like to earn some extra money, walking children from local schools to our afterschool facility at Cotham Secondary School (Cotham Lawn Road) ?

​

We are currently looking for staff 18yrs+ to collect from Dolphin School, Willow Park and St Peter & St Paul Primary Schools.

​

Are you a friendly, organised and responsible person?

 

Why not consider joining our ‘Walking Bus’ team?

 

This involves collecting children at the end of the school day (as per register), donning yellow safety waistcoats, then walking the children along a safe designated route, to Cotham School during Bristol school terms (as/when needed).

This is a zero hour contract job offer.

 

£15 per day.
